Henry II is a shop all about wine and wine-tastings, located in The Hague. We developed the visual identity and communication strategy and part of the shops interior. Since there a some well established wineshops in the area, we felt it was important to create something that stands out and appeals both to a group of younger consumers, who mostly buy there wines at the supermarket, and to the more seasoned wine-enthusiast.
The visual language is the key feature of the identity and is inspired by the gouaches découpés (paper cut outs) of Matisse, and are also cut by hand. The result is a toolbox of shapes and colors from which various collateral can easily be created.
